Denman & Davis Announces OEM Partnership Program

Cost savings earned through pre-processing fabrication

CLIFTON, N.J. – August 29, 2006 – Denman & Davis, the Northeast’s largest general-line independent steel service center, announces a new value-added partnership program available to all OEM customers.

The program enables OEMs to take advantage of Denman & Davis’ fabrication services earlier in the ordering process. Providing this service before shipping saves time and money for the OEMs. It also improves delivery consistency by enabling Denman & Davis to schedule and manage the entire process.

“The typical process has steel service centers like Denman & Davis shipping materials directly to the OEM fabricator for processing,” said Dylan Altieri, marketing manager for Denman & Davis. “With our new partnership program, Denman & Davis will complete the early stage fabrication, like bending, heat treating, welding, etc., before we ship to the OEM’s. The biggest value is cost savings and on-time delivery without OEMs having to spend extra time to coordinate the process.”

Instead, Altieri said, Denman & Davis will coordinate the entire process.

“We will deliver the materials in whatever condition our customers want,” Altieri said. “Behind the scenes, the material may go to several different fabricators before it’s delivered to the customer. We have the cost advantage because we can use our strategic fabricators where we may not be delivering a single piece but multiple pieces and where we can bundle the freight costs. This program passes those savings on to the OEMS.”
