An example of Denman & Davis' processing innovation A manufacturer of heat exchangers purchased pressure vessel plates with patterns cut on the sides. Their first processing step was to drill many bolt holes around the perimeter. Discovering this, Denman & Davis recommended torch cutting these holes to extremely tight tolerances. This innovation not only saved energy and reduced cost, but eliminated the customer's set up and drilling time, double handling, machine tool wear and the potential for rejects and obsolescence.
